Midland Health is seeking an experienced RN to work in the Labor and Delivery Unit.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

We have Nights available, and Full-Time, Part-Time & PRN shifts available (12-hour shifts; 7A-7P or 7P-7A). A recruitment specialist will discuss what schedule best fits your needs. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

·Complete a comprehensive assessment. This includes the initial and ongoing, extensive collection, analysis and interpretation of data.

·Synthesize the data collected during the comprehensive assessment to identify problems, make nursing diagnoses, and to formulate goals, teaching plans and outcomes.

·Implement the plan of care. The RN may begin, deliver, assign or delegate certain interventions within the plan of care for patients within legal, ethical, and regulatory parameters and in consideration of health restoration, disease prevention, wellness, and promotion of healthy lifestyles.

·Evaluate and report patient outcomes and responses to therapeutic interventions in comparison to benchmarks from evidence-based practice and research findings, and plans any follow-up care and referrals to appropriate resources that may be needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·An associate’s degree (ADN) or diploma in nursing is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred. Our aim is that MMH nurses are prepared at the BSN level. We are committed to support your pursuit of a BSN education. A BSN and certification in clinical area of expertise will be required to advance within the clinical nurse professional practice ladder.

·Current State of Texas License as a Registered Nurse
·Certification in area of specialty (e.g., Pediatric RN-BC, OCN ) preferred
·Current BLS upon hire; PALS required within 6 months of date of employment. Chemo courses preferred and encouraged.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals

· Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for
clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift
device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum
limits.
