Performs the essential job duties and responsibilities of an Echocardiography Technician in assessing, planning, and implementing diagnostic testing of assigned patients. Respo Save nsible for meeting the established standards for the administration of diagnostic ultrasound as well as appropriate documentation of activities related to testing and for managing supplies and equipment. Responsible for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. Responsible for solving practical problem, dealing with a variety of issues and interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Demonstrates clinical knowledge and judgment regarding patient’s care.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
• Obtain pertinent patient history and supporting clinical data to facilitate diagnostic results. Perform Cardiac Ultrasound procedures (i.e., Echocardiograms, TEE and Stress Echoes) according to the departments written Policies and Procedures.
• Assess and evaluate ultrasound images and related data according to established standards and guidelines.
• Complete a through report of each procedure obtained providing accurate, timely and complete documentation.
• Ensure proper recording, documentation, confidentiality, and transmission of patient’s medical information.
• Reasoning capabilities to interpret a variety of technical instructions, evaluate technical data and compose correspondence and work-related technical reports.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret the patient’s medical record and apply critical thinking skills.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from medical staff, managers, patients, families, and the general public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Must be registered in Adult Echocardiography.
• Up to 2 years of experience in adult echocardiography, preferred.
• Experience in pediatric echocardiography, not required but encouraged.
• Comprehensive computer knowledge & skills.
• Continued education as required for credentials.

• Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear.
• Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. Save
