The Ultrasound Technologist, with a focus on patient safety, is required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of the employing health care institution or practice setting. The Ultrasound Technologist functions under his or her own license and assumes accountability and responsibility for quality of care provided to patients and their families according to the standards of practice. The Ultrasound Technologist demonstrates responsibility for continued competence in practice, and develops insight through reflection, self-analysis, self-care, and lifelong learning.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
We have Full-Time & PRN shifts available (8-hour FT shifts; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; PRN: Shift Varies)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
• Practices technology founded upon theoretical knowledge and concepts, uses equipment and accessories consistent with the purposes for which they were designed, and employs procedures and techniques appropriately
• Assesses situations; exercises care, discretion, and judgment; assumes responsibility for professional decisions; and acts in the best interest of the patient.
• Acts as an agent through observation and communication to obtain pertinent information for the physician to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient and recognizes that interpretation and diagnosis are outside the scope of practice for the profession.
• The Ultrasound Technologist uses equipment and accessories, employs imaging and procedures, performs services in accordance with an accepted standard of practice, and demonstrates expertise in providing quality care to the patient, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Must be within the last semester of graduating or a graduate of an accredited ultrasound program and/or cross-trained from another allied health discipline.
• ARDMS registered or eligible. First registry must be obtained within 1 year of employment. Second registry must be obtained within the second year of employment.
• ARRT (R) (S) recognized, if above is not applicable.
• Ultrasound Technologists who obtained credentials on the basis of another license in the medical field must maintain both licenses

(examples: original license requires licensure from TDH, it must be maintained. If the original license requires from ARRT, it must be obtained).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.

The individual must be able to:
• Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff.
• The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.

 

Bonus -- Up to $45,000

 

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience.  Bonus is only applicable to new hires. Please inquire for details.

Not eligible for current employees or returning employees within one year of separation. Bonus is not eligible for if hired through a staffing agency.
