Capture

 

Performs the essential duties and the primary functions of a Speech/Language Pathologist. Responsibilities include but are not limited to evaluating patients, developing goals and treatment plans, administering speech therapy treatments, documenting treatment, and communicating with physicians and other health care workers. Responsible for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. Responsible for solving practical problems, dealing with a variety of instructions in written and oral form.

 

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Administer ST modalities, procedures, and protocols according to department guidelines
  • Provide accurate, timely, and complete documentation
  • Support and practice in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Assumes responsibility for his/her professional development

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors Degree required; Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program required
  • Must meet current legal requirements of licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist within the State of Texas

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to:

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
