Capture

 

Performs the essential duties and responsibilities of a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT). Ensure the accurate delivery of medications to the appropriate Hospital personnel in a timely fashion under the supervision of a pharmacist. Be responsible for ensuring proper storage of medications as well as maintaining correct medication charges.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Performs all duties in accordance with established pharmacy Policy and Procedures
  • Conducts oneself in a manner that is conducive with a professional pharmacy environment
  • Maintains high quality of work
  • Maintains basic computer skills
  • Understands department function
  • Be compliant with the completion of all required documentation
  • Maintain skills and competencies required to perform duties of a RPhT
  • Continue improving skills and knowledge

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must either register with the state as a pharmacy technician trainee and MUST take a Board approved pharmacy technician certification exam within ONE year of employment
  • Board approved pharmacy technician certification exam can be obtained either from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) OR be certified either through PTCB or NHA and registered with the state as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Prefer to have some pharmacy experience and basic knowledge of pharmacy workflow

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. or non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
