The primary responsibility of the Caterer is to provide the highest quality ofservice to customers while catering events at Midland Memorial Hospital. Other duties include following directions through the function sheet and function set-up. The Caterer is responsible for some food preparation and for prompt clean up of special events.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Responsible for some food production of catering specific items (i.e. catering trays) for events.
    Responsible for prompt set-up of catered events as requested on function sheets. Must becompleted within 15 to 30 minutes of event start time.
  • Responsible for delivery of all items requested and ensuring that food levels are maintained at appropriate levels during the event. Is responsible for recording all additional food items supplied over the original order.
  • Responsible for the prompt pick up and clean up of all events. Demonstrates proper handling of equipment during clean up and storage to prevent loss due to breakage.
  • Maintains the linen inventory and orders specialty items needed based on event calendar and
    requests.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Requires the ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from all Hospital’s publics.
  • Some previous experience as a cook in food service is preferred.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.

• Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, speak and hear.
• Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff.
• The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits
