Responsible for the management of Facility Services on multiple campuses. Provides a safe working environment for patients, visitors, personnel, medical staff and the public by implementing sound maintenance practices, preventative maintenance, and quality control. Responsible for maintaining established guidelines of the department, managing financial performance, and promoting teamwork. Ability to solve problems dealing with a variety of issues and interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Demonstrates knowledge in a wide range of maintenance functions including but not limited to: Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Systems and Operations. Ensures that department maintains compliance with applicable standards and other hospital policy and procedures. Monitors and controls the process for preventive and corrective maintenance.

 

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Managers Hours Normal Hours Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
• Provides leadership, direction and support to all employees in the department.
• Monitors the performance, productivity level, and the technical abilities of all staff members.
• Promotes and assists with the professional development of the staff.
• Ensures that all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Transportation, and all Life Safety and Life Support Equipment is operated as designed and maintained to ensure the highest level of reliability.
• Implement and monitor continuous performance and quality improvement initiatives developed by the Facilities Services Director.
• Manage the process to ensure preventive maintenance, corrective, and request work orders are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Manage renovation, upgrades and construction projects
• Oversees the Utility and Life Safety Management programs and ensures that the Hospital is prepared/compliant for survey or inspection by oversight organizations (i.e. DNV, TDSHS). Communicates effectively with all health team members, patients and clients.
• Ensures the department maintains a good reputation with its customers (patients, other department, etc).
• Operates assigned responsibilities within approved budget restraints.
• Monitors and controls overtime.
• Develop and implement staff work schedules.
• Resolves employee concerns in a timely manner.
• Assures that they have been thoroughly investigated and appropriate actions taken.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Associates Degree with certifications or equivalent experience as deemed appropriate by the Director of Facilities services in related field.
• Position recommends a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in the healthcare facility management field. Supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Certificate and/or licenses a plus.

• Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear.
• Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff.
