 Assist licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. Contributes to safe, efficient, and cost-effective anesthesia care. Provides support to anesthesia for routine and complex surgical cases. Prepares and maintains patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia.

 

Shift & Schedule:

PRN, Day Shift,  Monday - Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

 Completes routing duties in a timely manner.

 Performs duties under the direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia provider and/or Registered Nurse.

 Prepares anesthesia equipment and supplies necessary for the administration of general, regional, or moderate anesthesia care.

 Identifies specific needs of the patient and anesthesia care provider in relation to anesthesia supplies needed prior, during, and after surgical intervention.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 High School Graduate or Equivalent on the job training

 Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) encouraged

 Required to complete seven (7) hours of hospital provided continuing education upon hire and annually for Advanced Sterile Processing Certification. Education will focus on the standards of practice in instrument decontamination, transportation, and reprocessing including the handling of transesophageal echocardiogram probes.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
