Performs the essential duties and responsibilities of a Unit Coordinator/Scheduler. Responsible for the requisitioning of supplies and equipment necessary for the daily function of the unit. Responsible for accurate and timely computer data entry and retrieval. Responsible for maintaining the flow of communication on the unit, including answering the telephone and providing information and directions for patients, families, and other customers and guests. Responsible for solving practical problems, dealing with a variety of issues and interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Responsible for promoting positive interactions with co-workers, customers and guests.

 

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE:

Fulltime, Day shift, 6:00am to 6:00pm 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Prioritizes, organizes and plans for the unit
  • Manages a large volume of work efficiently, enters orders and performs other duties in a timely manner.
  • Anticipates the needs of the ongoing/upcoming shift.
  • Contributes toward the organization and efficiency of the unit.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Current Health Unit Coordinator Certification or equivalent on the job training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to: Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
