The coordinator of education services is a qualified individual with knowledge of coordinating and maintaining staff development/educational practices. This position serves as the coordinator for the American Heart Association’s training center programs. Maintains a professional image for staff development/education services with all customers – physicians, staff, and the public. Demonstrates the ability to handle confidential matters related to human resources.

 

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Full Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Demonstrates ability to coordinate multiple staff development/education tasks and services in an organized and orderly system.
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain files and database computer applications for staff development and education.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills.
  • Serves as a resource for staff and physicians to obtain journal articles upon request.

American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center (TC)

  • Serves as an AHA Training Center Admin for information, support, and quality control of all American Heart Association training center instructors.
  • Provides day-to-day management of local training center activities.
  • Accountable for the management of course fees, course certification cards and bank deposit slips.
  • Prepares reports and collaborates with others to maintain training center standings.
  • Maintains a current AHA BLS Instructor Certification to teach BLS courses and Monitor current AHA instructors.
  • Serves as an administrator of the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) system.
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for RQI issues, responding to queries from learners.

Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Serves as an administrator of the LMS system.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the LMS (Symplr Learning)
  • Configure and maintain system settings, user roles, permissions, and integrations
  • Upload, organize, and maintain eLearning courses, videos, SCORM/AICC files, and competencies.
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for LMS issues, responding to queries from learners, managers, and HR.
  • Generate and distribute reports on training completion, user engagement, compliance, and certifications.
  • Conduct training sessions or webinars on how to use the LMS effectively.

Hospital Student Liaison

  • Coordinate observation opportunities with academic institutions and students.
  • Maintain a master schedule of student observer placements across departments and units.
  • Collaborate with department managers and preceptors to ensure capacity and readiness for student observers.
  • Oversee onboarding processes for all incoming observers, including HIPAA training and badge distribution.
  • Verify completion of required documentation, such as immunization records, confidentiality agreements, and training certifications.
  • Assists with Student onboarding to include hospital tours and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) training.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Desired knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
