The Flow Coordinator is responsible for coordination and communication of care to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes are maintained as the patient transitions across complex and vulnerable points within the healthcare system. The Flow Coordinator performs the essential duties and responsibilities of a Registered Nurse (RN) in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care needs. When making patient assignments, the Flow Coordinator will construct appropriate assignments with a focus on matching the skill and knowledge level of the nurse with the acuity of the patient. The Flow Coordinator has sole responsibility for determining and maintaining quality and timely patient care services by making assignments including staffing, room assignments, order of procedures, organizing resources, and collaborating with physicians across Cardiovascular Holding, Cath Lab, and Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). The Flow Coordinator focuses on coordination of care to maximize patient flow and inter-department efficiency as well as manage quality improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction, and other metrics. The Flow Coordinator should serve as a role model for fostering mutual respect and trust to cultivate positive team dynamics.

• Intervene when needed for patient satisfaction or safety issues as they arise.• Facilitate movement of patients through the treatment process.
• Ensure quality patient care and compliance with legal requirements.
• Conduct huddles, de-briefings, and unit-based council meetings
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Education and/or experience: BSN required or currently enrolled in BSN program withgraduation within 6 months of assigned position.
• Licensure: Current State of Texas License as a Registered Nurse.
• Preferred Certifications: RCIS, CVRN, or area of specialty preferred.
