
Performs the essential duties and responsibilities and the primary functions of the End User Computing Engineer. Leads the configuration, application delivery, upgrades, patching, inventory, and user experience of the End User Computing (EUC) environments. Provides recommendations for standard configurations of endpoint devices and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment. Participates in project intake to advise on application delivery, updates, patching, and user experience to endpoint devices. The End User Computing Engineer is responsible for the first-call response and/or escalation of EUC issues impacting multiple users as they are reported to the HIS helpdesk.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
- Recommend technical specifications for endpoint procurement.
- Develops, maintains, and provides support for application delivery to end user computing environments with best methods (software distribution, group policy objects, application publishing, etc.)
- Evaluates performance of end user computing environments to recommend changes to processor, memory, storage, workflows, operating systems, security products, patching, and licensing.
- Recommends changes for desktop technicians and helpdesk to improve support, efficiency, and end user experience.
- Develops and maintains end user computing documentation and knowledge base articles related to frequently asked questions and common incidents.
- Recommends end-user device support training to management for operations and upcoming changes to the environment.
- Works closely with server and storage resources to ensure high reliability and efficiency of virtual desktop infrastructure, software distribution, patching, and
application publishing systems. - Provides inventory and utilization reports regularly to management for asset management and trending of the EUC environments.
- Ensures completion of EUC project requests by original completion date as determined and assigned during project planning or established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Provides daily support in the areas of end user computing managed by the HIS department.
- The employee will always be alert to, and notify the appropriate parties concerning any potential safety hazards.
- The employee will be familiar with the hospital-wide safety manual.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience gained in a similar or related field.
- 4-6 years of experience as technical support required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience end user computing support.
- Industry specific training and/or certification desired
- Demonstrated customer-service and communications skills at an engineer level.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
- Demonstrated ability to lead endpoint life cycle management and process improvement.
