This position requires experience in performing the essential duties, responsibilities and primary functions to be a contributing member of the Planning and Marketing Department. A professional interaction with various levels of a health care organization, diverse public relations skills and experience with public health is an integral component of this position.

Exceptional customer service interaction is a primary and fundamental function of this position requiring this professional to demonstrate and portray an image in person and online that positively represents Midland Health’s core values. The ability to engage other professionals in productive planning, strategy and implementation is paramount. Additionally, this position requires a highly motivated and creative individual capable of organizing projects and initiatives that effectively align with the Community Health Needs Assessment and Strategic Plan of the Health System.

 

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Full Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Exceptional communication skills that are reflective in both written and verbal communication in person, in print and online.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines
  • Creativity, initiative and graphic design skills to help develop image campaigns and manage brand strategy.
  • Manage and execute the planning and development of community education activities and all other hospital involved events.
  • Multimedia skills to be able to create, coordinate and maintain platforms essential for internal and external communication and education initiatives.
  • Create Internal/External Communication Flyers
  • Creates content for the Employee Wellness Platform
  • Manages the Employee Wellness Platform
  • Create content and manage the BetterU Portal
  • Manages Community Outreach Initiatives
  • Manages Internal Communication Policies, Execution and Reporting
  • Manages the community wide annual Wellness Tour
  • Backup Public Information Officer
  • Manages and operates the Community Garden
  • Manages and operates the Hope Chest Program
  • Coordinates Promotional Item needs across the entire health system
  • Manages the Community Health Needs Assessment to meet the IRS standards and guidelines
  • Creates plan to address priorities in the Community Health Needs Assessment
  • Manages reporting of progress of Community Health Needs Assessment
  • Implements programs to address priorities in the Community Health Needs Assessment
  • Implements programs that advance Midland County in the Robert Wood Johnson County Health Rankings and align with the mission of the health system

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in public health or equivalent experience.
  • Three (3) + years of experience in public and media relations, online advertising and/or social media management
  • Three (3) + years of experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to apply principles of logic and scientific thought to a wide range of intellectual problems
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point as well as various website marketing and maintenance platforms.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to:

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
