The primary responsibility of the Room Service Supervisor is to provide the highest quality of customer service to patients at all times. Through pro-active supervision, this position ensures that the room service operations run smoothly, properly, and that outstanding customer service is always served. This position also collects a variety of financial and quality control data for the department.

 

SHIFT & SCHEDULE: 

Fulltime, Wednesday-Sunday; 12pm-8:30pm 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Ensures Room Service Lead and all other room service staff completes all of their duties as described in their respective job descriptions.
  • Ensures nourishment rooms, waiting areas and all other hospital departments are properly stocked. Communicates with clinical managers to establish par levels and ensures the needs of the units are met.
  • Maintains department paperwork for room service line activities and assists Room Services
  • Manager as needed.
    • Trains all new room service staff.
    • Communicates patient complaints to management and assists with complaint resolution and customer satisfaction measures as needed.
  • Works effectively with other department supervisors to ensure quality of patient care.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have previous supervisory experience in foodservice or health care.

Ø Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
