Provides operational and logistical support to the Clinical Engineering department by assisting with equipment movement, coordinating service activities, and maintaining the accuracy and functionality of the Real Time Location Services (RTLS) system.
This position serves as the primary support role for retrieving equipment from clinical departments after work orders are submitted, coordinating equipment delivery and pickup with the assigned driver, and communicating with off-site technical partners regarding equipment service needs. The Equipment Coordinator also maintains and supports RTLS technologies including asset tracking tags, staff duress badges, infant security tags, and environmental monitoring sensors. As workload allows, this role will shadow Biomedical Equipment Technicians to gain exposure to equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and hospital medical technology systems in preparation for potential advancement into a Biomedical Equipment Technician role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
• Supports the Clinical Engineering department by coordinating the retrieval, transport, and return of medical equipment associated with service work orders.
• Coordinates equipment movement and service activities with internal staff, assigned drivers, and external service partners as needed.
• Maintains the accuracy and operational status of the Real Time Location Services (RTLS) system for medical equipment and related technologies.
• Manages RTLS devices including asset tracking tags, staff duress badges, infant security tags, and environmental monitoring sensors.
• Maintains accurate equipment location and asset information within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and RTLS platforms.
• Assists Biomedical Equipment Technicians with equipment staging, installations, and departmental operational needs.
• Supports inventory management and organization of equipment and RTLS components within Clinical Engineering work areas.
• Participates in training and development activities, including shadowing Biomedical Equipment Technicians to support future technical competency development.
