The Integration Architect III will lead the domain strategy and manage cross-solution dependencies within the organization. This role demands effective communication, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of industry-specific knowledge. A strong background in enterprise architecture and system integration are essential for success in this role.

 

The Integration Architect III is responsible for designing and implementing integration solutions for seamless data exchange across an array of systems. This individual will plan, coordinate, develop, and supervise all activities related to the integration of software programs, applications, and third-party solutions to meet the organization’s business requirements.

 

As a key architect, collaboration is pivotal, as the IA will work closely with the Application Support Analyst to oversee the design, implementation, and management of software applications that support hospital operations. This role is critical for maintaining optimal functionality, performance, reliability, and fault tolerance of the hospital's primary EMR system, various third-party applications, and other IT-dependent business functions.

 

In addition to technical expertise, the Integration Architect III serves as a positive leader within the IT team and among other analysts. Acting as a mentor, this individual provides guidance, shares knowledge, and sets high standards for best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Strong leadership and people management skills are essential to oversee this role effectively.

 

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Full Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Develop, communicate and execute the domain environment strategy.
  • Manage cross-solution dependencies and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and document integration architectures, frameworks, and standards supporting interoperability between healthcare applications.
  • Support client relationships to achieve business objectives through collaboration to understand requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Coordinate design, validation, and integration activities across solutions and venues of care, ensuring seamless interoperability and data exchange.
  • Lead and coordinate initiatives from major incidents that involve Oracle IRC resources.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in healthcare information system applications, business conditions, and trends.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including clinical staff, IT teams, and vendors, to gather requirements and ensure integrations meet operational and clinical needs.
  • Partner with leaders of other IT disciplines to ensure proposed solutions align with information, technology, infrastructure, business, and security architectures.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of integration solutions to ensure reliability, performance, and security.
  • Assist in triaging testing and go-live issues for resolution by the proper teams.
  • Lead regular updates to standard IT documentation (app documentation, DR Playbooks, etc)
  • Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve integration issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Assist with incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem
  • Engage in evaluation and testing new technologies with an emphasis on interoperability.
  • Apply technical expertise to individual client system builds to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
  • Provide regular updates on ongoing tasks and projects to stakeholders, following IT policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the hospital, fostering productive relationships within and outside the IT department.
  • Serve as an escalation point for junior analysts.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to application analysts and teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.
  • Act as back-up for Application Support Manager as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, required.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field, preferred
  • A minimum of 6 years of industry-specific experience or background is required.
  • Professional-level certification in a relevant field is preferred; significant relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Demonstrated skillset in multiple relevant technologies/applications required
  • Knowledge of integration platforms and tools (e.g., Mirth, Open View, Olympus, iBus).
  • Expert level understanding of all Cerner build tools (e.g. Bedrock, DTA Wizard, DCP Tools, etc.)
  • Some familiarity with cloud-based integration solutions and architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure).

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
