The Medical Staff Services Data Specialist is main objective is to ensure that compliance is maintained regarding provider information and documentation. They are responsible for
collecting and accurately entering expirable provider documentation for hospital privileges and payer enrollment. This professional maintains and updates departmental
databases/spreadsheets/reports and provider contact information. The Data Specialist carries out assigned duties by leadership in a timely fashion to ensure the efficiency of the department.

 

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
Full Time, Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Ensures compliance with all state, accreditation, and hospital policies through consistent data maintenance.
  • Collects and accurately enters expirable documents including, but not limited to licenses, board certifications, malpractice insurance policies, other certifications.
  • Assists Medical Staff Services team in data collection for hospital privileges and payer enrollment.
  • Contacts providers/office managers for required documentation and updated contact information on a regular basis.
  • Monitors databases including but not limited to LEMM, ABMS, AMA, etc. and updates provider files to reflect information.
  • Distributes, collects and files important policies and documents outside of privileging process to maintain compliance.
  • Carries out assigned tasks by Medical Staff Services leadership efficiently and in a timely fashion.
  • Supports organizational and departmental programs, initiatives, and processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate’s degree or equivalent education and work experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based word processing and spreadsheet software; basic office equipment familiarity; basic medical terminology; knowledge of basic records
    maintenance and retrieval systems; and knowledge of DNV requirements for medical staff credentialing and privileging and NCQA for payer enrollment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a multi-functional task environment with excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to establish daily
    work priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with astute judgment in areas of human relations.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for
    clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift
    device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum
    limits.
