Performs the essential duties and the primary functions of a Rehab Tech. Responsibilities include but are not limited to transferring and transporting patients, completing infection control duties, assisting or administering physical/occupational/speech therapy treatments under direct supervision of PT or PTA, OT or COTA, and/or SLP, communicating with the professional disciplines regarding patient performance, and communicating with physicians and other health care workers. Responsible for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. Responsible for solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of instructions in written and oral form.

 

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Administer OT, PT, ST modalities, procedures, and protocols according to department guidelines
  • Support and practice in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Assumes responsibility for his/her professional development
  • Participate in ambulation of non-therapy patients as needed as part of the Ambulation Aide program

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Required to complete eight (8) hours of hospital provided continuing education hours upon hire and annually for Total Joint and Spine. Education will focus on management/care of total hip, knee and shoulder replacement as well as elective spine surgery patients.

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
