
The Endoscopy Technician I is responsible for the care and maintenance of endoscopes and accessory equipment utilized for medical procedures, following infection control guidelines, hospital policies and manufacturer recommendations. Tasks are performed independently and under the supervision of licensed staff.
SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
Full Time, 7:00am-4:00pm
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
- Ability to assess, project and plan for procedural needs.
- Perform routine duties in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and team members.
- Supports and practices in accordance with Hospital policy, procedures and protocol.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of infection control principles.
- Required to complete six (6) hours of hospital provided continuing education upon hire and annually for Advanced Sterile Processing Certification. Education will focus on the standards of practice in instrument decontamination, transportation, and reprocessing.
